A village is to be found on top of the hill of Montmartre crowned by the white Sacred Heart Basilica so familiar to Parisians.
Towards the end of the 19th century, numerous artists (Van Gogh, Renoir, Picasso ) settled here with their families to enjoy the simple and peaceful country life. We'll ride up to Montmartre by coach and funicular, and you will enjoy a guided walking tour of the village and Place du Tertre, foloowed by a visit on your own of the Sacred Heart basilica.
The Louvre museum is one of the richest in the world. It's impossible to visit it all in a short time, but a guided visit will show you the highlights. In a one hour guided tour you will come face to face with the works of art that you have known all your life. Among the many works of art you will see are the the Venus of Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace and Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa.
Wednesdays and Fridays ; it is possible to stay on at the Louvre for the late night opening.
Mondays (and also on December 24 and 31) the Louvre will be visited first before going up to Montmartre.
