Visit of the Pointe du Hoc Visit of the American cemetery in Colleville and Omaha Beach. Stop at Arromanches and Juno Beach. Lunch included.
It'll take your group almost 4 hours to reach Normandy in the vincinity of the D-Day landing beaches. Your first stop will be the Pointe du Hoc well-known for the heroic assault of the U.S. Rangers on the German soldiers perched high above. You'll have some free time to visit on your own the remnants of the impressive fight that took place in and around the Pointe du Hoc.
Then onto the American Cemetery in Colleville for an emotional visit where 9386 soldiers are resting. In 2007 a new Visitor Center was created to commemorate the operations of June 6th 1944. You will also discover Omaha Beach and have time to spend some time there before lunch.
Lunch (drinks included) is served at the beautiful Ferme de la Rançonnière (13th century) in the village of Crépon.
In the early afternoon you will stop and see the remains of the Arromanches’ artificial harbor (built by the Allies in less than 15 days). Finally you continue your trip along the coast of Normandy with Gold Beach and Juno Beach to see the the remains of the Atlantic Wall before returning to Paris.
